THE PROBLEM

What makes painting jobs hard to run

  • Estimates that look like a scribble

A homeowner comparing three painters picks the one whose estimate is clear, itemized and professional.

  • Deposits tracked on paper

Deposit received, balance due, touch-ups added: the numbers drift when they live in a notebook.

  • Paint costs nobody adds up

Gallons, tape and drop cloths come from three stores, and the job’s real profit is a guess.

FAQ

Questions painters ask

Can I collect a deposit and invoice the balance later?

Yes. Record the deposit as a payment on the invoice, and the remaining balance stays open until the job is done. Each payment gets its own branded receipt.

Can I price by room or by square foot?

Yes. Each line has a quantity, unit and rate, so “420 sq ft” or “1 room” both work. Save your usual rates to your products & services.

Can I add touch-ups after the estimate is approved?

Yes. Add the extra lines to the invoice, or send a revised estimate for approval from the same link.

Can customers pay by card?

Not through Intralyn yet. Your invoices show your own payment instructions, such as check, bank transfer or Zelle, and you record each payment as it arrives, including partial payments.

Is my information private?

Yes. Each business’s records are kept separate and checked on every request, and you can turn off a shared estimate or invoice link at any time.
